Most of us already know that proper skin care involves more than just washing your face. There is a whole range of products that fall under the Skincare category: Cleanser, Exfoliator, Treatment, Serum, Face Oil, Sunscreen, Moisturizer, Chemical peel, Toner, Face Mask, and Eye cream. There may be more variants as the product category is ever-expanding with research on new ingredients and formulations.
Our marketing team at Orane searched for published surveys world over to gauge what is the most favorite skincare product in demand. According to a Gen Z survey from the consumer insights platform, Perksy, 32% reported that moisturizer is their favorite skincare product.
The survey is pretty much on the expected lines since moisturizer has been the most common and readily available product on display at retail stores. Several other market research reports also confirm the shift in skincare product demand from older age groups to younger ones. So while the youngsters are starting to use the skincare products early in their lives, most of them (almost 54% as per a survey) report skin dryness as their primary problem.
Our inhouse research conducted on a smaller sample highlighted that pollution is another primary concern prompting the use of skincare products. Still, due to limited product knowledge, most users prefer to go for moisturizer as a solution.
