At Orane, we have always strived to make in India the world’s best and highest skilled beauty and wellness professionals.
It gives me great pleasure to inform you that Orane is engaging with one of the topmost internationally recognised experts in the beauty and wellness arena, the UK-based Ms Susan Butler, to ensure that students at Orane can acquire the skills to become the very best globally, and contribute to raising the overall standards of training in this field in India.
Held in the highest esteem in the beauty and wellness domain, Ms. Butler has vast experience in this arena gained through her association with various international companies and educational institutions in the United Kingdom, as well as the Confederation of Beauty Therapy and Cosmetology (CIBTAC).
During her latest India visit which started on March 29, Ms Butler would travel over 8,000 km to address students and other stakeholders at 32 beauty and wellness-related skills events being organized at Orane institutes at 8 states and 2 Union Territories, including one in Delhi on April 18. Where she would specifically speak on the many career opportunities globally for skilled beauty and wellness professionals, the enormous respect that trained beauty and wellness experts enjoy in advanced countries prompting even graduates and postgraduates to enter this arena, and prevalent international standards.
Significantly from the country’s point of view, Orane aims to take advantage of Ms Butler’s presence in India to facilitate a close working relationship between her and the Beauty and Wellness Sector Skill Council (on whose Governing Council I have the pleasure of serving) so that together we may ensure a greater alignment between internationally accepted standards and qualification frameworks with those prevailing in India.
To achieve the twin results of:
– Bringing the largely unorganised and fragmented Indian beauty and wellness sector more in sync with global benchmarks including in terms of quality service delivery, and
– Enable students studying at beauty and wellness VTP facilities in India to be second to none to any of their peers worldwide in terms of being able to find jobs or become self-employed at any location of their choice internationally
Ever since its formation in May 2014, the present Government under the dynamic leadership of Shri Narendra Modiji has laid tremendous emphasis on skill development (nothing better exemplified than its decision to set up for the 1st time in the country’s history a dedicated Ministry for Skill Development & Entrepreneurship). As part of its vision to create a New India by 2022 ranking high on all aspects of human development.
The ‘Skill India’ mission has been carried forward with tremendous vigour by the Hon’ble Minister for Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Shri Rajiv Pratap Rudyji, who has already distinguished himself for making skills a buzzword in the country. Speaking purely from the point of view of the beauty and wellness sector, the Hon’ble Minister has been an excellent brand ambassador of our domain. By extensively advocating how a greater focus on skills in our field would not just contribute to the growth of the Indian beauty and wellness sector but also to the larger objectives of building a ‘Skilled India’ and lending momentum to the cause of women empowerment.
At Orane, we consider ourselves blessed for being able to contribute to the nation-building agenda by doing our bit to make a success of signature skill development initiatives of the Government, including the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY). As we embark on the next stage of our growth, I would like to take advantage of this platform to assure all stakeholders, including the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, that Orane would continue to be one of the standard bearers of the new, skilled India envisioned by our very respected and Hon’ble Prime Minister.
