How to Keep Your Skin Glowing in Winter?

The colder months might feel great on your appetite and mood, but they are not so generous on your skin. Lower humidity levels, lower temperatures, artificial heating sources, etc. strip off your skin’s moisture, leaving it dry and cracked. But if you want to restore that warm glow on your skin, here are a few things that you should not skip.

Exfoliate Frequently yet Gently:

Dryness spikes dead skin levels, that need to be removed regularly in order to make the skin appear smoother and healthier. Use a mild exfoliating agent that’s not harsh on your skin. Oatmeal, almond, apricot, walnut, ground coffee, etc make for good exfoliators for winters. You can also visit a Beauty Expert for cleansing and exfoliation service.

Opt for tepid water:

While cold water is healthy for the skin, washing your face with cold water in winter can cause sudden inflammation, making your face look puffy. Similarly, hot water can loosen up the skin and cause breakage, besides leaving it dry. Tepid or lukewarm water is the best option for winters. Follow it with a rich moisturising cream.

Keep your skin and body hydrated:

The warm, natural glow on your skin comes from deep within. And nothing makes it better than a well-nourished and hydrated body. Since there’s less moisture in the air, your body and skin both need extra fluids. Hence it’s more essential to drink detoxifying drinks, fruit juices, and lots of water in winters, so your skin can soak in the moisture.

Use natural oil-based moisturizers and creams:

Most moisturisers and creams have silicone, alcohol, paraben, etc. This winter, try to get products that are rich in natural oils from nuts or seeds, like coconut, olive, almond, jojoba, apricot, grape seed and more. The natural fatty acids in extracts help your skin rejuvenate and make it glow.

Say Yes to home-made face masks:

To regularly maintain the natural glow, use a face mask. Homemade masks with rich, natural ingredients like yoghurt, olive oil, honey, milk cream, bananas, and aloe vera can be very effective. With these tips, and a little bit of awareness, you can always face the winters head-on, and let your skin feel warm and look glowing.
